City Park Fürth | Parking & Events

The City Park Fürth is one of those places where you immediately understand why the people of Fürth speak so fondly of their green oasis. The park is not just a green space, but a vibrant meeting point for walks, breaks, family time, and cultural moments. The official tourist information describes it as the green living room of the city, whose origin lies on the grounds of the old cemetery at the Resurrection Church. In 1951, the area was shaped into its current form by Hans Schiller as part of the garden exhibition 'Green and Blooming' and became an award-winning garden monument. This blend of history, well-maintained design, and accessible everyday use makes the City Park so special. Upon entering the park, one experiences not an anonymous city park, but a place with character, botanical diversity, and clear attractions for various target groups. ([tourismus-fuerth.de](https://www.tourismus-fuerth.de/poi/stadtpark/))

The location also contributes significantly to its popularity. The City Park is just a few minutes' walk from the Fürth main train station, making it quickly accessible for both locals and visitors. Many typical search queries revolve around access, parking, maps, cafes, playgrounds, mini-golf, and events. These topics shape everyday life in the City Park: here, green relaxation meets practical accessibility, family-friendliness meets cultural backdrop, and historical heritage meets modern leisure use. Whether planning a relaxed afternoon, a summer concert visit, or simply a walk between the rose garden and sunbathing area, one finds an unusually versatile address in City Park Fürth. City Park Fürth History: From Cemetery to Garden Monument

The history of the City Park does not begin as a park, but as a cemetery. The Resurrection Church was built on a cemetery that was rededicated in 1802 and was ceremonially inaugurated in October 1826. The church is one of the oldest surviving churches in Fürth and still marks an important historical anchor point in the park today. Only later was the area redesigned, and in 1951, garden architect Hans Schiller shaped it into the form that still characterizes the park today for the garden exhibition 'Green and Blooming'. From this development emerged a garden monument that is much more than just a beautifully designed green space for Fürth. It tells the urban history outdoors and makes visible how a place of farewell became a public oasis of relaxation. ([tourismus-fuerth.de](https://www.tourismus-fuerth.de/poi/auferstehungskirche))

The fact that the history of the City Park is consciously conveyed to this day is also evident in the official city walks. The tourist information offers a guided tour of the City Park that focuses on the transformation of the area, the design by Hans Schiller, and the special status of the park in Fürth. In addition, there is a digital tour via smartphone app called 'Geh aus mein Herz', which encourages seeing, marveling, and reflecting at seven stations. This makes the City Park not only an area for relaxation but also a place for learning and remembrance. Those interested in urban history will not find a dry plaque here, but a place where the past remains directly connected to plants, paths, sightlines, and the church. City Park Fürth Parking: How to Arrive Relaxed

For visitors, getting to the City Park is uncomplicated because of its very central location. The tourist information points out that the City Park is about a 10-minute walk from the Fürth main train station for the Classic Open Air and other park events. The station is accessible by train, bus, and subway, making it very convenient to visit the park even without a car. This proximity is one of the great advantages of the location: whether coming from Nuremberg, the Fürth city area, or further away, one can reach the park without long walks. This is especially helpful during events, as the paths can be clearly planned, and the visit does not turn into stress before even entering. ([tourismus-fuerth.de](https://www.tourismus-fuerth.de/erleben-geniessen/veranstaltungen/festivals-in-fuerth/classic-open-air))

Those who prefer to come by car will find parking options according to the tourist information at Fürther Freiheit or in one of the parking garages in the Fürth city center. Additionally, there are bicycle parking facilities around the main event locations, making the park attractive for cyclists as well. Accessibility needs are also taken into account: the city of Fürth provides a public accessible toilet at Engelhardtstraße 22 in the City Park and open-air stage area. Overall, this creates a very practical picture: the City Park is not a remote excursion spot, but a green city center address with good public transport connections, sensible parking options, and important service points in close proximity. City Park Fürth Café and Restaurant: Enjoyment in the Green

An important search topic around the City Park is the City Park Café, and for good reason. The official website describes the café as a place for a small break in the midst of nature. The food and drinks are freshly prepared daily, and the selection of high-quality organic products is particularly important to the team. Additionally, there is a small artisanal baking studio on the premises, which makes the offering even more charming. The address at Engelhardtstraße 20 and the opening hours from Monday to Sunday and on public holidays from 10 AM to 10 PM make the City Park Café a very practical stop for breakfast, coffee, cake, or a late drink in the green. ([stadtparkcafe.de](https://www.stadtparkcafe.de/))

The mini-golf area also complements the culinary offering. There is a kiosk and a café with ice cream, coffee specialties, savory snacks, cakes, sweets, and a juice bar. This combination is particularly pleasant for families and walkers, as it easily combines movement and breaks. Those who stroll over the meadows, later play a round of mini-golf, and then want to refresh themselves with a little something will find the right mix of leisure and enjoyment in the City Park. The atmosphere is deliberately relaxed: no overloaded event gastronomy, but a green place where coffee, ice cream, and nature naturally belong together. This is exactly why the café fits so well with the character of the park. ([minigolf-im-stadtpark.de](https://www.minigolf-im-stadtpark.de/))

City Park Fürth Playground and Mini-Golf: Leisure for Families

Family-friendliness is one of the strongest themes in City Park Fürth. The tourist information emphasizes the large playground, which is even complemented by a refreshing water course in summer. Together with the spacious paths, the sunbathing area, and the green spaces, a space is created where children can play and adults can relax at the same time. The park is therefore suitable not only for the classic Sunday stroll but also for longer stays with picnic blankets, strollers, or balance bikes. Those who want to be active can also use the paths for jogging or walking. This mix of movement, nature, and child-friendly offerings explains why the City Park is a fixed destination for many Fürth families on free afternoons. ([tourismus-fuerth.de](https://www.tourismus-fuerth.de/poi/stadtpark/))

The mini-golf facility at the City Park pond further emphasizes this family character. According to the operator, the place is open weather-dependent and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, while it can be played from Wednesday to Friday from 3 PM to 8 PM, Saturdays from 2 PM to 8 PM, and Sundays from 1 PM to 7 PM. The prices are 4 euros for children aged 6 to 16 and 5 euros for adults; dogs are welcome, and group discounts are available upon request. The location is particularly nice: the place is situated between the playground and sunbathing area, surrounded by old trees and a dahlia garden, making it feel more like a small leisure garden than a standard facility. Those looking for an uncomplicated family outing will find the right balance of play, rest, and nature here. ([minigolf-im-stadtpark.de](https://www.minigolf-im-stadtpark.de/))

City Park Fürth Events Today: Concerts, Open-Air Stage, and Festivals

The City Park is not only a place of tranquility but also a fixed stage for events. Particularly defining is the open-air stage in the heart of the park. The tourist information describes it as an amphitheater in close proximity to the City Park Café, with open stone steps for the audience and a view of the swan pond behind the stage. In summer, theater performances, concerts, and the summer night film festival take place there. This combination of green space, water, and open architecture creates an atmosphere that clearly differs from closed event venues. Those searching for 'City Park Fürth today' or 'City Park Fürth events' will quickly land at this open-air stage, as it forms the cultural heart of the park. ([tourismus-fuerth.de](https://www.tourismus-fuerth.de/poi/freilichtbuehne-stadtpark-100037051/))

Another highlight is the Sparda-Bank Classic Night or the Classic Open Air. The event takes place on the sunbathing area in the City Park, is free of charge, and unseated, allowing visitors to bring blankets or folding chairs. The City Park is about a 10-minute walk from the main train station; those arriving by car will find parking options at Fürther Freiheit or in parking garages in the city center. In addition to this concert format, the Summer Night Ball also plays an important role: according to the tourist information, the City Park serves as the backdrop for this special summer evening every two years. In autumn, the apple market complements the event year along Hans-Schiller-Allee. Together, these formats show how versatile the park is used: as a concert meadow, film location, dance floor, and market area. ([tourismus-fuerth.de](https://www.tourismus-fuerth.de/erleben-geniessen/veranstaltungen/festivals-in-fuerth/classic-open-air))

Those planning events in the City Park or simply wanting to check spontaneously what is happening should therefore understand the park not only as a leisure place but also as a cultural venue. The special thing is the low threshold: many formats take place outdoors, are easily accessible, and use the existing landscape as a natural stage. This makes the City Park never arbitrary, but always a place where culture and nature reinforce each other. Especially in summer, this creates a mix of picnics, music, and evening atmosphere that has a very unique character in Fürth. For search queries related to concerts, open-air stages, and today's events, the City Park is therefore a clear focus. ([tourismus-fuerth.de](https://www.tourismus-fuerth.de/poi/freilichtbuehne-stadtpark-100037051/))

City Park Fürth Church and Nature: Attractions with Character

At the center of the park stands the Resurrection Church, which is one of the oldest surviving churches in Fürth. It was built on the cemetery that was rededicated in 1802 and was ceremonially inaugurated in October 1826. Its location in the middle of the City Park makes it much more than just a religious building: it is a historical starting point, an urban planning reference point, and a visual constant. The tourist information also points out tower climbs that are offered several times a year. This connects the church with architecture, history, and views. Those who consciously explore the City Park do not perceive the church as a footnote but as one of the most important keys to understanding the entire area. ([tourismus-fuerth.de](https://www.tourismus-fuerth.de/poi/auferstehungskirche))

The natural details of the park are also remarkable. The rose garden is a central highlight for flower lovers, while the fountain courtyard between the Resurrection Church and the City Park Café creates a calm water atmosphere. Along the Pegnitz River, according to the tourist information, ducks, herons, and with a bit of luck even rabbits can be observed. Additionally, there are offerings such as the insectarium and the tree educational trail, which make the park exciting for nature-interested visitors. In summer, the mix of flowers, water, and shade is particularly appealing; in winter, the official pages describe more sledding hills for children than an ice rink. So, those looking for ice skating will not find a solid ice rink in the researched sources, but rather a classic winter leisure experience in the snow. This is precisely the uniqueness of the City Park: it offers nature experiences without artificial over-staging. ([tourismus-fuerth.de](https://www.tourismus-fuerth.de/poi/stadtpark/))

What is particularly pleasant is that all these elements are close together. One can start at the church, walk through the rose garden, pause at the fountain courtyard, stroll to the sunbathing area, and later stop at the café or mini-golf facility. The City Park Fürth is therefore not a place that one simply walks through once, but a site that unfolds in many small stations. This spatial density makes it interesting for families, walkers, cultural audiences, and photography fans alike. Those searching for City Park Fürth photos will quickly understand why: there is no single super-attraction here, but many small motifs that together create a very harmonious overall picture. ([tourismus-fuerth.de](https://www.tourismus-fuerth.de/poi/stadtpark/))

Why the City Park Fürth is So Popular Today

The popularity of the City Park is explained by the rarely successful combination of location, history, and use. It is central enough to be reachable without detours but large and multifaceted enough to remain interesting for half a day or even a whole summer day. The official pages show a park that stands equally for tranquility, movement, and encounters. Joggers use the paths, families the playground and sunbathing area, culture enthusiasts the open-air stage or the Classic Open Air, and history-interested guests the Resurrection Church and the garden monument identity of the area. Such multiple uses are often a sign that a park has truly arrived in urban life. That is precisely the case here. ([tourismus-fuerth.de](https://www.tourismus-fuerth.de/poi/stadtpark/))

Additionally, there is the atmosphere of the place. The tourist descriptions speak of green living rooms, oases of relaxation, sensory impressions, and lively backdrops. This is not coincidental but corresponds to the actual profile of the park: it is well-maintained, historically charged, and simultaneously open to very normal everyday moments. Whether one wants to drink coffee, listen to a concert, play with children, try mini-golf, or simply sit by the water, everything can be found here in one place. Therefore, the City Park is worth visiting not only for a one-time visit but repeatedly, depending on the season, weather, and occasion. This is what makes it one of the strongest green addresses in Fürth. ([tourismus-fuerth.de](https://www.tourismus-fuerth.de/poi/stadtpark/))

It's actually my favorite place in the beautiful city of Fürth. Super relaxing and the gardener's work that is on display year in and year out is like a piece of art. A great place for families and spending summer days there. A delicious cafe, called Stadtparkcafé is also in the perimeter of the park.

It is quite a beautiful park with a mixture of wild and cared for areas. There is a cafe and a minigolf course where you can purchase coffee and ice cream as well. It looks very clean and you are sure to have a nice time walking, sunbathing or just relaxing there.

Amazing place to spend your day out. It's a huge area and definitely doesn't look like a park. On a bright day you can see many people lying around soaking the sun. There is a big play area for kids with swings, slides etc. A long track goes along the park for jogging, walking and cycling.

Very nice and pleasant place. Huge and clean. If you wish to have a sunbath or even swim in the river. Not sure if that nice swimming area, but I saw people swimming in there.
