Hiking Parking Lot Fürth | Parking & Hiking Trails
The hiking parking lot in Fürth is an uncomplicated starting point for anyone who wants to not just cross the western outskirts of the city but experience it. It is located at the transition to the Fürth city forest, which extends over more than 550 hectares and is considered the green lung of the city. Those who park here can quickly access paths suitable for walks, jogging, walking, Nordic walking, and family-friendly outings. The attractive mix of nature and good accessibility is particularly appealing: the destination is not a remote insider tip but a practical starting point for short loops as well as longer forest tours. In the vicinity, there is also the wild boar enclosure, the fitness trail, and several educational and circular paths that make the visit varied. For this reason, many people are not only looking for a pure parking space but also for access, parking, hiking trails, reviews, and the best starting points for the city forest. This location answers these questions very well. ([stadtwald.fuerth.de](https://www.stadtwald.fuerth.de/waldlehrpfad))
Access and Parking at the Hiking Parking Lot in Fürth
The official address is Zum Vogelsang 22, 90768 Fürth. City-wide event pages use the same area as a meeting point and refer to it as either hiking parking lot, parking lot NH Hotel Forsthaus - fitness trail, or parking lot in front of Hotel Forsthaus, depending on the format. In another city event, the destination is described as Zum Vogelsang 20. This suggests that visitors will find very closely located access points and meeting places in this area; those heading to the parking lot should best orient themselves to Zum Vogelsang and Hotel Forsthaus. In practice, this means: the address is important, but so is the wording of the event or route, as the exact meeting point can differ by a few house numbers. This is typical for nature and sports events where access to the forest is more important than a formally separate parking address. This point is particularly sensible as a starting point when the destination is the city forest, the wild boar enclosure, or one of the marked circular paths. Since the city of Fürth regularly uses the location for hikes, bike tours, and preparation runs, it is a clear, recurring orientation point in the west of the city. Therefore, those coming for the first time should not be confused by different formulations but recognize the common logic: the hiking parking lot marks the entry into the same natural area, and the surroundings of Hotel Forsthaus serve as the main orientation. Which Trails and Circular Routes Start Here
For hikers and walkers, the location is particularly exciting because several marked routes begin here. The Kleeblattweg with ten kilometers, the Mariechenring with 3.5 kilometers, and the Stadtwaldweg with 14 kilometers start at the parking lot Zum Vogelsang; the Waltraudrunde, about five kilometers long, starts and ends at the TV 1860 sports field. Additionally, there are around 25 kilometers of designated bike paths in the city forest, and for joggers, the city recommends the route that leads from the TV Fürth 1860 grounds into the city forest. Thus, the hiking parking lot becomes a real hub for different types of movement: short circular routes for beginners, medium tours for families, or brisk walking and longer paths for those who want to experience the forest sportily. The great advantage is that no one has to first tackle a long journey through unknown terrain but can start directly from a marked starting point. Those traveling with children benefit from the clear structure of the paths as well as the option to shorten the tour flexibly or combine it with a detour to the enclosure. For search queries related to hiking parking lot, hiking trails, parking, and routes, this mix of accessibility and orientation is a key reason why the location is so relevant. It is also practical for returning visitors because one can always put together new combinations of distance, length, and destination without changing the starting point. ([stadtwald.fuerth.de](https://www.stadtwald.fuerth.de/freizeitmoeglichkeiten))
Wild Boar Enclosure, Red Deer, and Fitness Trail Right Next Door
Directly above the parking lot at Hotel Forsthaus begins the fitness trail, where visitors can exert themselves at various stations over approximately three kilometers. Not far from there is the wild boar enclosure, which has been a special attraction for children since 1987. The city describes that in spring, and sometimes even in winter, the piglets cause a great influx and that small forest tipis can be built around and beautiful photos can be taken. The offer is complemented by the red deer enclosure in the western part of the city forest, where red deer, fallow deer, and roe deer can be observed in a natural environment. For those interested in knowledge, there is the newly designed forest educational trail with eleven stations over about one kilometer, as well as the forest-wild experience path that leads from the rock cellar to the red deer enclosure and informs about wildlife, nature conservation, and the use of the city forest. This makes the area around the hiking parking lot not only sportily attractive but also educationally valuable. Those who just want to take a short walk can visit individual stations; those with more time can combine enclosures, educational trails, and a longer round through the forest. This mixture of movement, nature observation, and child-friendly experiences ensures that the place is much more than just a parking lot. It is the entrance to a small adventure landscape that works without long paths and complicated planning. ([stadtwald.fuerth.de](https://www.stadtwald.fuerth.de/freizeitmoeglichkeiten))
Hiking Parking Lot Reviews: What Visitors Really Experience
The provided reviews paint a very practical picture of the location. It is repeatedly described that it can get very crowded on weekends, but that one usually still finds a parking space. Particularly positive is the mention of the walk to the forest playground in Zirndorf, which can be done with children in about 35 to 40 minutes from here. Another feedback emphasizes that even on a busy Sunday morning in January, spaces were available. For SEO planning, this is important: behind the search term hiking parking lot lies not only the question of a place to park the car but also the expectation of whether the place serves as a reliable starting point for a family outing. The existing feedback supports this because it highlights comfort, orientation, and a clear proximity to walking and forest destinations. Even a very brief review like 'Great' fits into this picture, as it shows that the location is perceived as uncomplicated and functional. Especially for a hiking parking lot, this is a strong signal: no one expects luxury but a good entry into nature, and this impression is conveyed by the location in the existing reviews. For users, this means primarily safety in planning: those who want to arrive, park, and then head out directly get a clear starting point here that is not associated with large detours or complicated paths. This is pleasant for families, walkers, and leisure runners alike.
For Families, Runners, and Nordic Walkers
The hiking parking lot in Fürth appeals to very different target groups, and that makes it so exciting for search queries. Families appreciate the short paths to the wild boar enclosure, the uncomplicated access to forest trails, and the ability to flexibly design an outing. Those traveling with children can limit the visit to a short round or expand it with educational paths, play, and nature moments. Runners benefit from the fact that there are several fixed and well-described routes suitable for regular training runs. Especially the combination of fitness trail, jogging routes, and designated circular paths creates an environment where sporty movement and nature experience go hand in hand. For Nordic walkers, the location is ideal because the city explicitly highlights four marked circular paths, three of which start directly at the parking lot Zum Vogelsang. This provides security in orientation and makes planning easier even without local knowledge. Therefore, those looking for a hiking parking lot nearby often do not think of a mere parking space but of the best start for movement in the green. This function is fulfilled very well by the location in Fürth. It is close enough to the city to be spontaneously reachable and at the same time close enough to the forest, enclosures, and educational paths to make a real nature day out of it. Additionally, it combines well with sporting events where the location is repeatedly used as a meeting point. ([stadtwald.fuerth.de](https://www.stadtwald.fuerth.de/freizeitmoeglichkeiten))
The Fürth City Forest as a Natural Space and Green Lung
The Fürth city forest itself is the actual destination behind the hiking parking lot. Spanning over 550 hectares, it offers leisure, recreation, and education in the west of the city. The city of Fürth emphasizes that the forest, in addition to its significance for the climate, is also a popular destination for people from the region. Walks, mountain biking, walking, horseback riding, bouldering, and educational paths show how diverse the space is used. At the same time, the city information emphasizes that the forest meets today’s challenges well and that its offerings are consciously geared towards nature experience and knowledge transfer. Therefore, those who start here do not simply visit a parking lot but an entrance to a large urban natural landscape with a clear structure, educational claims, and many leisure options. This also explains why so many search queries not only contain the term hiking parking lot but also the name of the city forest, Hotel Forsthaus, or the neighboring attractions. The location is part of a developed recreation concept, not just a side show. In this perspective, it also becomes understandable why the place is so attractive for local events: it connects nature, movement, information, and a clearly marked meeting point. For the city, this is a valuable space because it supports both the daily life of the population and the leisure of guests. Therefore, it makes sense for visitors to think of the hiking parking lot not in isolation but as a gateway to a larger network of paths, themes, and landscape experiences. ([stadtwald.fuerth.de](https://www.stadtwald.fuerth.de/waldlehrpfad))
Practical Tips for Your Visit to the Hiking Parking Lot
Those who want to make good use of the hiking parking lot in Fürth should always plan the visit as a small excursion into the overall system of the city forest. The most convenient way to do this is to consider beforehand whether the focus is on a short family round, a sporty unit, or a nature visit with enclosures and educational paths. For a relaxed start, it is worthwhile to enter the address Zum Vogelsang and the reference to Hotel Forsthaus cleanly into the navigation system so that one immediately reaches the correct area. Those who want to walk one of the marked paths can already choose the round in advance according to length and thus avoid unnecessary detours. Families benefit from the fact that a short walk and an encounter with the wild boar enclosure can be well combined. Runners and walkers should take advantage of the proximity to the marked circular paths and choose between the Kleeblattweg, the Mariechenring, or the Stadtwaldweg depending on their pace. It is also sensible to plan additional time for detours, as the city forest is much more than a transit area. With its educational paths, nature observations, and leisure offerings, it invites one to linger. Those visiting the place for the first time should therefore see it more as a starting point for a half or full nature day and not just as a parking lot. This expectation makes the location pleasant: it is clear, recurring, and functional, but at the same time diverse enough to discover something new with each visit. Thus, a simple parking option becomes a reliable starting point for relaxation, movement, and nature experience. ([stadtwald.fuerth.de](https://www.stadtwald.fuerth.de/freizeitmoeglichkeiten))

Gets very full on the weekend, but I have always found a space to park. A nice walk is from here to the Waldspielplatz in Zirndorf. With children, you need about 35-40 minutes.

Spaces available despite being a busy January Sunday morning during Covid lockdown. Not sure what it is like when the hotel is open for business however.

There are several hiking and fitness trails here for beginners and advanced sports enthusiasts. I can especially recommend the "Vita-Parcours" fitness trail. It's also suitable for beginners. It's very varied, with inclines, declines, stairs, and different surfaces. It has a high proportion of forest floor and is particularly recommended as a barefoot path. Walking barefoot in the forest is a wonderful experience. There are many different fitness exercises along the trails. Anyone who trains and hikes here regularly during the warmer months only needs to go to the gym in winter. I made as many videos as I could. I think it's one of the most beautiful hiking trails near the city.

Excellent parking facilities, including for disabled people; very good signage is in place.
