Academy for Social Education Fürth | Educators & Directions

The Academy for Social Education Fürth is a clearly positioned educational institution for aspiring educators and for educational professionals in elementary school child care. The institution belongs to Diakoneo, is located at John-F.-Kennedy-Straße 31 in Fürth, and is situated near the Südstadtpark, in close proximity to the Fürth main train station. This makes it not only professionally oriented but also spatially designed to be a well-accessible training location. The school started in 2012 with its first class, has been state-recognized since 2016, and is now operated as a private substitute school with a distinct social education profile. The combination of a central location, a Christian-based understanding of self, practical training, and a modern learning environment makes the site attractive for many interested parties from Fürth, Nuremberg, and Erlangen. Particularly important is the integration of lessons, internships, and personal development, which is explicitly emphasized at the school. ([km.bayern.de](https://www.km.bayern.de/schule/6027))

Training to Become an Educator in Fürth

The focus of the Academy is on training to become an educator. Diakoneo describes the school as a higher vocational school that prepares students for an advanced career path. The content of the training is aimed at accompanying children in their educational process, supporting parents in their educational work, and also providing assistance to children and adolescents with developmental disorders or disabilities. This very claim is reflected in the school's profile: theory, practice, and social pedagogical attitude interlink here. The full-time training is designed for four years and is divided into the Social Pedagogical Introductory Year, two study years with integrated internships, and a professional internship with accompanying theoretical phases and professional supervision. Those who successfully complete this path receive the examination to become a state-recognized educator. Additionally, the school points out that training is possible both full-time and part-time. This means the location addresses different educational biographies and remains interesting for career changers. ([diakoneo.de](https://www.diakoneo.de/bildung/ausbildung-paedagogische-berufe/erzieher-fuerth))

A significant advantage of the Academy is its strong practical orientation. The Diakoneo website explicitly refers to numerous practical placements in the region, particularly in the greater Nuremberg, Fürth, and Erlangen area. For the professional internship, the school also mentions international networking: Currently, there is an exchange with the German Higher Private School Windhoek in Namibia, allowing interns to complete part of their final training phase abroad. This openness to various learning locations is a strong feature because pedagogical competence is not only developed in the classroom but also in direct contact with children, teams, and institutions. The profile is further complemented by the close proximity to Diakoneo facilities in the region, which open up additional opportunities for internships and professional orientation. For those interested in a solid education with a clear career perspective, Fürth is not just a location but a genuine practice hub with high connectivity to later work in the educational field. Elementary School Child Care at the Academy Fürth

In addition to the classic educator training, the Academy for Social Education Fürth has also played an important role in the training of professionals for elementary school child care since 2020. The homepage and the overview of the school make it clear that this training direction was consciously developed as a complement to the existing offerings. The school describes it as a pilot project of the Bavarian Ministry of Education to recruit professionals in the elementary school child care sector. This is an important note for anyone looking for training with a direct connection to today's educational and care reality. Especially in the area of all-day care, learning support, and reliable care for children of elementary school age, the demand for qualified professionals is continuously growing. Fürth responds with an independent training structure that combines pedagogical competence, a sense of responsibility, and practical applicability. ([fachakademie-fuerth.de](https://www.fachakademie-fuerth.de/ueber-uns))

The associated school for elementary school child care is designed as a two-year training program according to the official flyer: one year of school with a theoretical phase and a second year of paid professional internship. A secondary school diploma and vocational training or alternatively a degree are required. This means the offering is aimed at individuals who want to enter a pedagogical profession quickly and still thoroughly. The strong practical relevance is also central here, as the school does not see itself as a purely theoretical program but as a pathway into a field of work where reliability, relationship work, and pedagogical know-how are immediately required. In combination with the educator training, this creates a location that consolidates different qualification paths under one roof, thus opening up a broader range of educational routes than many other schools in the area. Therefore, anyone searching for terms like elementary school child care Fürth or educational professional Fürth will find a genuinely suitable, state-recognized training offer here. Location, Directions, and Accessibility at Südstadtpark

The location of the Academy is one of its strongest practical advantages. The school is located on the school campus at John-F.-Kennedy-Straße 31 in Fürth at Südstadtpark. The institution officially emphasizes that it is centrally located near the Fürth main train station and is therefore easily accessible from the entire Nuremberg, Fürth, and Erlangen region. For a training program that regularly leads to the location over several years, this position is particularly important. It not only facilitates the daily commute to school but also appointments for counseling, job interviews, information events, and the organization of internships. The proximity to the train station makes the location attractive for commuters and lowers the threshold for those traveling from the surrounding area. In the eyes of those searching for directions, location, or accessibility, this is a clear advantage because the school does not hide but presents itself as urban and clearly integrated. ([fachakademie-fuerth.de](https://www.fachakademie-fuerth.de/standort))

The official directions page lists several specific public transport connections. Those coming from Fürth main station can use bus lines 178, 174, or 67 to the Flößaustraße stop. Alternatively, access via the U1 to Hardhöhe or Jakobinenstraße is possible. The S4 towards Nuremberg Stein is also mentioned, from there continuing with bus 67 to Saarburger Straße. These details show that the school consciously focuses on good public accessibility. The picture is complemented by a bicycle parking area right in front of the school building, which is explicitly shown on the building page. For individuals arriving by bike, this is a very concrete and practical advantage. Regarding car traffic, the school does not publish its own detailed parking garage or exclusive car parking concept on its official pages. Therefore, the safest statement is: publicly communicated are primarily public transport connections and bicycle use, while specific car parking details are not highlighted on the website. ([fachakademie-fuerth.de](https://www.fachakademie-fuerth.de/standort/anfahrt))

Building, Rooms, and Modern Learning Environment

The building itself is also part of the location message. The Academy describes its school building at John-F.-Kennedy-Straße 31 as a beautiful new school building that was occupied in autumn 2019. The move to Südstadtpark was therefore not just a change of address but a conscious spatial development. According to the official presentation, the building enables cooperative and independent learning in specially designed rooms equipped with modern media. This is particularly relevant for a social education training because learning processes here do not only take place frontally but also collaboratively, project-oriented, and practically. The equipment is geared towards modern teaching methods and supports students in actively acquiring subject content rather than just passively receiving it. The location thus does not appear as a classic school building from the past but as a learning place that takes pedagogical quality seriously both architecturally and technically. ([fachakademie-fuerth.de](https://www.fachakademie-fuerth.de/standort/gebaeude/))

According to the website, the facilities also include a large foyer, a kitchenette, a library, various recreational rooms, and an outdoor area. This mix makes everyday life at the school lively and pleasant. The foyer is described as a place where students can relax or socialize during breaks. Additionally, the captions on the building page show a workshop and art room, upper floor areas, and a clearly recognizable internal structure of the building. For a vocational academy, such rooms are more than just infrastructure: they support group work, creative methods, conversation situations, and preparation for pedagogical practice. The small but important information about the bicycle parking area in front of the school fits into this picture of a well-thought-out, everyday-oriented learning environment. Together with the location at Südstadtpark, this creates a site that appears functional, modern, and student-friendly while also providing a quiet environment for focused learning. ([fachakademie-fuerth.de](https://www.fachakademie-fuerth.de/standort/gebaeude/))

Application, Admission Requirements, and Everyday Service

Those interested in a place at the Academy will find a clear application process on the official website. Applications can be submitted by post or digitally via online application and email to the school. Required documents include a cover letter, resume, certificates, and if applicable, proof of an educational qualification obtained abroad. For questions, the school refers to the secretariat at +49 911 974539-0. This process is structured clearly and transparently, which is particularly important for applicants who are dealing with a social education vocational training for the first time. Additionally, the school regularly invites to information days offered at the beginning of the calendar year. This is helpful because interested parties have the opportunity to gather personal impressions and clarify any open questions before the actual application. For the practical school everyday life, the Academy also offers a learning platform Moodle, which is linked in the service area and provides students with organizational and didactic support. ([fachakademie-fuerth.de](https://www.fachakademie-fuerth.de/ausbildung/bewerbung?utm_source=openai))

The admission requirements for the educator training are also openly stated by Diakoneo: at least a secondary school diploma as well as a qualification as a child caregiver or another relevant two-year vocational training. Additionally, a monthly tuition fee is charged. This shows that the school has clear formal requirements while also recognizing various educational backgrounds. Furthermore, there are numerous internship opportunities in the Diakoneo facilities in the greater Nuremberg, Fürth, and Erlangen area, which facilitate the transition between school and practice. The service area is also designed for everyday practicality: the secretariat is available during school hours from Monday to Friday from 07:30 AM to 01:00 PM. Such details make a difference when it comes to realistic planning, quick inquiries, or organizational coordination. Therefore, anyone searching for application Academy Fürth, admission requirements, or secretariat will find not only general information but also a concretely structured and practice-oriented administration. About Us: Sponsor, Recognition, and Development

The Academy for Social Education Fürth is supported by Diakoneo and operates on the basis of the Christian faith. On the homepage, the school explicitly states that it is based on the proclamation of Jesus Christ and respects the dignity of every individual. This value orientation is not just a mere guiding principle in the background but shapes the self-presentation and pedagogical claim of the institution. For many applicants, this is a decisive factor because they are looking for not only training but also a clearly ethical framework. Diakoneo also describes the Academy as easily accessible from the greater Nuremberg, Fürth, and Erlangen area and points out 160 training places. Thus, the location is not small and insignificant but a serious training site with regional relevance. The Ministry of Education lists the school under school number 6027 as a private substitute school with state recognition, which clearly places its formal status in Bavaria. ([diakoneo.de](https://www.diakoneo.de/bildung/ausbildung-paedagogische-berufe/erzieher-fuerth))

The size and structure of the school also speak for a lively training location. On the about us page, it mentions around 25 teachers and about 200 students, which allows for a personal learning atmosphere with close interaction between teachers and students. This is an advantage for a vocational academy because social pedagogical education thrives on relationships, guidance, and reflection. Since 2020, the school for elementary school child care has also been located at the institution, and the school describes the development there as a contribution to the recruitment of professionals in the elementary school child care sector. Additionally, the management structure was reorganized at the beginning of 2024: since February 1, 2024, Karolina Croner has been the overall director, while Gabriele Kramer has taken over the site management. Such information shows that the school not only talks about pedagogical content but is also being developed organizationally. For those interested, this is important because stable leadership, a clear school structure, and recognized sponsorship create trust. Together with the modern building situation, practical relevance, and central location, this creates the image of an Academy that combines tradition, modernity, and social responsibility. Mr. Nöthen failed me in my practical exam because of a completely off-topic question. The children had taken pine cones from the garden for their collage; the theme was summer, but the cones are more reminiscent of winter. Pine cones are available year-round! Mr. Nöthen is literally responsible for the shortage of qualified staff in childcare facilities; he has no empathy for specific personal situations, just like the entire school. I strongly advise everyone NOT to go to the vocational school in Fürth!! Travel a bit further instead.

Since I attended the school myself, I can speak from experience. I find the teachers very nice; they're happy to answer questions and always help when you get stuck. I've also been to schools that were the complete opposite. I can only recommend doing your training there.

As a career changer, I enjoyed my three years at the school and completed them successfully! Thanks to the teachers, who were mostly very kind and always willing to listen! It's always a give and take!

With the exception of a few teachers, the teaching staff treats students in such a counterproductive manner that, in my opinion, it leads to a long-term decline in the quality of the educators trained there... Teaching empathy, appreciation, and congruence, but not practicing them, is absolutely questionable and, in this respect, should not be taken seriously. The Academy for Social(?) Education does not support its students in any way when it comes to emergency situations, nor does it strive for individual support. Since 2016, it has occasionally, without justification, eliminated its own students to make room for external applicants, as if classes with just under 30 students weren't already large enough... Ultimately, as a result of the shortage of qualified educators, the faks-fürth has become a "quantity over quality" training institution. Thanks, but no thanks.

The school's atmosphere is poor; some teachers criticize other teachers in front of students. For a socially conscious school, the attitude of the school administration was also very questionable.
