On the Trails of the Beavers in Farrnbachtal: Nature Experience in Fürth
The Farrnbachtal will be the scene of an exciting natural history tour: On November 21, 2026, you will discover the lifestyle of beavers together and learn to read the traces of these nocturnal animals in the landscape. The event combines local natural history, environmental education, and an intensive discovery experience in the city area of Fürth.
From the Vanished Animal to an Integral Part of the Landscape
After their extinction in Bavaria in the 19th century, beavers returned through reintroductions. They have now reached the city area of Fürth. During the tour, you will learn how the animals adapt to water bodies and riparian landscapes and what traces indicate their presence.
Discover Beaver Signs and Understand Nature
Fresh gnaw marks, chewed trees, and other characteristic signs make the presence of beavers visible. The guide imparts vivid specialist knowledge about the behavior, habitat, and ecological significance of the animals. Thus, the city tour through the Farrnbachtal becomes a cultural and natural history enrichment for families, nature lovers, and curious explorers.
A Varied Route through Farrnbachtal
The length of the trail is about 3 kilometers. The route is mostly accessible; a short passage leads over a meadow with uneven terrain. Sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing create good conditions for the outdoor nature experience.
