Behind the scenes at the Fürth City Theatre

On April 4, 2027, the Fürth City Theatre will open its doors for a special theatre tour. Visitors will discover the rooms and work areas that remain hidden from the audience during a performance, and experience the theatrical atmosphere where rehearsals, changes, lighting, and stage technology dictate the rhythm of the house.

Where theatre is created

The tour leads through the multifaceted world of the City Theatre: on stage, rehearsals, performances, dancing, or music happen almost daily. Between performances, the space is continually transformed through setup and takedown. These insights make the dramaturgy of theatre operations immediately tangible and show how many crafts are involved in a stage experience.

Heightening heights and fascinating technology

A special highlight is the view into the heights of the fly loft. Here, it becomes visible how sets, curtains, and technical elements are moved above the stage. Lighting design is also in focus: the tour conveys how lighting moods can change spaces, highlight scenes, and frame the art of acting effectively.

Theatre knowledge with a personal touch

Engaging anecdotes give the walk a personal and entertaining perspective. Guests will also encounter long-standing theatre rules, such as why whistling is not allowed backstage. Thus, the tour combines theatrical historical knowledge with sensory impressions and a lively view of daily work at the Fürth City Theatre.

A stage experience for curious theatre fans

The theatre tour is aimed at everyone who does not want to experience a production solely from the audience. It shows the stage design from an unusual proximity, clarifies technical processes, and opens the view for the precision behind every performance. For school classes and closed groups, tours for ten or more people are possible upon prior request.

Conclusion

For those who love theatre, the Fürth City Theatre offers a change of perspective full of atmosphere, stories, and surprising details. Secure your ticket and discover the stage, the fly loft, and the theatre technology where work, light, and imagination create vibrant stage art.
