A road movie about freedom, friendship, and the courage to follow one's own path

At SINNema in Babylon Cinema Fürth, The Peanut Butter Falcon unfolds a heartwarming stage experience on the screen: the moving story of Zak, a young man with Down syndrome, who escapes from a care home to realize his dream of professional wrestling.

A journey full of longing and self-determination

During his escape through the swamps of North Carolina, Zak encounters the petty criminal Tyler. From initial distrust grows an unusual friendship as both men confront their own injuries and hopes. When the caregiver Eleanor joins the mismatched duo, the dramaturgy of the road movie takes a new emotional turn.

Sensitive acting and fairy-tale imagery

Tyler Nilson and Michael Schwartz combine adventure film, tragicomedy, and buddy movie into a production with South American landscape atmosphere, rough humor, and quiet moments. Zack Gottsagen, Shia LaBeouf, and Dakota Johnson shape the acting ensemble with a direct, human presence. Riverbanks, improvised boats, and open roads become the moving stage set for a journey where freedom appears not as an abstract idea, but as a concrete experience.

Inclusion as the heart of the narrative

The film tells a story of friendship, respect, inclusion, and self-fulfillment. Zak becomes not merely the subject of a story but the driving force of his own adventure. This perspective gives the film its special emotional impact and creates a theatrical atmosphere where laughter, tension, and reflection are closely intertwined.
