New Year's Eve Bash! Tangos & Broadway: A Musical Fireworks Celebration for New Year's
As the old year counts its last hours, the Resurrection Church in the city park transforms into a vibrant concert hall. At New Year's Eve Bash! Tangos & Broadway, the elegant Broadway sound of George Gershwin meets the passionate musical language of Tango Nuevo. The trio of Michael Herrschel, Markus Rießbeck, and Sirka Schwartz-Uppendieck combines vocals, saxophone, and piano into a festive stage experience full of charm, rhythm, and surprising musical twists.
Between Broadway Glamour and Latin American Passion
The dramaturgy of the evening thrives on contrast: here the swinging lightness of the Great American Songbook, there the expressive tension of Astor Piazzolla. Gershwin's Swanee and Clap Yo’ Hands open the evening with buoyant Broadway flair, while Piazzolla's Tango Nuevo sounds lead into a sensual and dynamic sound world. Instrumental pieces like Milonga and Sensuel meet vocal numbers like Neurometrò and Balada para un loco.
A Swinging Trio Performance
Michael Herrschel shapes the evening as singer and master of ceremonies with narrative presence. Markus Rießbeck adds warm, dance-like colors to the program on saxophone, while Sirka Schwartz-Uppendieck brings together the threads on piano and musical direction. The performance emerges from the interplay of voice, breath, rhythm, and improvisational flexibility. Thus, from the chamber music ensemble, a large sound space grows.
Sound Colors for New Year's Eve
The acoustics of the Resurrection Church give room and depth to the melodies. Between floating piano chords, striking saxophone lines, and Herrschel’s characteristic voice, a theater atmosphere unfolds that feels both festive and immediate. The audience experiences not just a mere concert sequence but a musical dialogue that links Broadway elegance, Tango impulse, and New Year's mood together.
An Evening with Musical Wit
The master of ceremonies guides the program with wit and a keen sense of timing. The audience's reaction arises from the mix of familiar melodies, virtuosic artistry of the voices, and surprising transitions. Gershwin’s catchy tunes invite inner swaying, while Piazzolla’s music intensifies the scene and charges the New Year’s transition with a pinch of melancholy and a lot of rhythmic energy.
Conclusion: Entering the New Year with Music
New Year's Eve Bash! Tangos & Broadway promises a festive, lively, and atmospheric stage experience in Fürth. Those who wish to not just celebrate the New Year but experience it musically will find in this concert a stylish blend of Broadway, Tango Nuevo, song, and presentation. An evening for all who appreciate sound colors, great melodies, and the special closeness of a live-performing trio.
