The Amazon Rainforest: A Journey Through a Unique Ecosystem

On Tuesday, November 17, 2026, vhs Fürth invites you to an interactive lecture on the Amazon rainforest. Under the title Perspectives, Treasures, and Faces of a Unique Ecosystem, the speaker Sarah Brockhaus opens up a multifaceted view of the Amazon – as a natural wonder, treasure chamber, climate savior, and source of raw materials.

An Art Experience of Nature Observation

The event leads into a world of intense colors, complex forms, and impressive spatial effects. The dense canopy, the humid atmosphere, the diversity of plants, and the voices of wildlife shape the aesthetic experience of the rainforest. The focus is not on an exhibition in the classic museum sense, but on a vivid examination of nature as a living whole.

The Amazon rainforest is one of the most significant ecosystems on Earth. The lecture highlights its biological diversity, its role in the global climate system, and its importance as a source of food, medicine, and raw materials. The event combines natural science expertise with questions of sustainable use and cultural education.

Perspectives on Protection and Responsibility

Sarah Brockhaus is also engaged in the rainforest shop and brings in-depth knowledge about the Amazon as well as sustainable usage forms. The event focuses on the question of what value the rainforest has for the global community and how its continued existence can be secured. This results in an informative curation of various perspectives: ecological connections, economic interests, and social responsibility enter into a dialogue.

Conclusion: Knowledge that Encourages Action

Visitors can expect an illustrative, interactive lecture with strong images, understandable connections, and impulses for a more conscious use of the Earth's resources. Those who want to understand the Amazon rainforest not just as a distant image of nature but as a globally significant habitat can experience an enriching evening of cultural and ecological education in Fürth.
