Elsewhere begins where familiar borders end

With the project Art Transformer III – Elsewhere, kultur.lokal.fürth transforms into an open space for thought and experience between visual art and literature. From October 31 to November 14, 2026, 16 artists and cultural creators present works that emerged from an unusual artistic exchange.

Art as Encounter Across Borders

The Art Transformer project, which started in 2012, brings creatives from different fields together. For the third gathering, participants were paired randomly. The teams were inspired by their partners' existing works and developed new artworks on the theme Elsewhere.

The exhibition makes this creative process visible: painting, drawing, installation, and literary texts enter into a dialogue. The curatorial idea connects different art forms and opens up an aesthetic experience in which familiar patterns of perception are set in motion.

Artwork Observation with Voice and Space

A special element of the exhibition consists of texts produced for the displayed images and installations. Through QR codes, the literary contributions can be listened to. This expands the visual observation of the artwork into an acoustic level: colors, forms, materials, and words enter into a relationship and create a multifaceted exhibition atmosphere.

Visitors immerse themselves in Elsewhere not only as observers. A permanently set-up interactive table invites everyone to develop their own works and texts. Transformative readings, creative workshops, and a philosophical workshop complement the exhibition with offerings in cultural education.

An Art Experience Between Literature and Visual Art

On November 1, a transformative reading as a literary guide through the exhibition is on the program. The event takes visitors through the works of the participating teams, making the connection between text, image, and installation immediately experienceable.

The Art Transformer project represents a contemporary form of collective art production. It is not the individual art form that is central, but the exchange serves as the starting point. This creates an exhibition space where artistic perspectives meet and new forms of perception emerge.

Conclusion: An Exhibition to See, Hear, and Participate

Project Art Transformer III – Elsewhere promises an inspiring art experience for everyone who appreciates contemporary art, literature, and open encounter formats. The combination of exhibition, transformative reading, and interactive offerings makes the visit an aesthetic experience with lasting impulses. Admission is free. Art enthusiasts should experience the exhibition at kultur.lokal.fürth live and embark on a journey to Elsewhere.
