When trumpet meets pop voice: Trumpet Night in Fürth

On February 27, 2027, the Stadttheater Fürth will transform into a meeting place for jazz, funk, soul, and pop. Rüdiger Baldauf presents his Trumpet Night and welcomes prominent guest Yvonne Catterfeld on stage. The event starts at 19:30.

An evening full of tonal colors and musical energy

Rüdiger Baldauf is among the most versatile trumpeters in Germany. For thirteen years, he shaped the sound of Stefan Raab's TV show TV Total as a member of the Heavytones. In addition, he has worked with international artists such as Shakira, Seal, James Brown, Ray Charles, Jamie Cullum, and Michael Bublé.

In his Trumpet Night, Baldauf puts the trumpet at the center of the concert experience. Precise conducting, powerful brass sections, and a rhythmically driving band combine jazz improvisation with funk groove, soul feeling, and modern pop arrangements. The orchestration is characterized by dynamic changes: here a crystal-clear trumpet tone, there a dense brass section, in between the warm stage performance of an expressive singer.

Yvonne Catterfeld as special guest

Yvonne Catterfeld brings her distinctive voice and experience from pop, soul, and acting into the musical format. Together with Baldauf, new fields of tension arise between melodic vocal lines and virtuosic trumpet leads. The audience can expect not an ordinary pop concert, but a soulful live format with newly arranged songs, spontaneous musical dialogues, and great tonal breadth.

From jazz club sound to grand theater moment

Baldauf's musical signature combines technical precision with immediate emotion. His projects Jackson Trip and Strawberry Fields show how consistently he transfers well-known music into new jazz and funk contexts. Both productions reached number one on the JPC Jazz charts. His earlier release Trumpet Night Live also epitomizes a dense live atmosphere where brass players and rhythm sections make the air vibrate.
