Remembering for the Future: Klezmer and Reading in Fürth
The event series Fürth Remembers combines a Klezmer concert with a reading on January 23, 2027, at Kofferfabrik. Music and remembrance culture enter into an intense dialogue, creating an evening that makes Jewish life, history, and the responsibilities of the present audible.
Klezmer as a Resonant Memory
Klezmer thrives on emotional lines, rhythmic agility, and a sound language that oscillates between melancholy, hope, and exuberant energy. In the live atmosphere of Kofferfabrik, the concert unfolds its special effect: instrumental colors, dynamic synchronization, and expressive stage performance meet the concentrated audience atmosphere of a commemorative evening.
Music and Reading in Dialogue
The reading enhances the concert experience with a literary perspective. Between spoken words and musical orchestration, an interplay emerges that not only explains historical contexts but makes them emotionally palpable. Thus, the event becomes a meeting with memory, Jewish culture, and the question of how remembrance impacts the future.
Fürth Remembers around the Day of Remembrance
The event series commemorates people who were persecuted, expelled, or murdered due to antisemitism and racism during the Nazi era. Fürth initiatives and cultural institutions create different approaches: from city tours and lectures to readings, theater, and musical formats. Many events in the series are offered free of charge.
An Evening with Resonance
Visitors can expect not an ordinary concert, but a concentrated interplay of Klezmer, literature, and historical reflection. Kofferfabrik provides an immediate setting where acoustics, closeness, and shared listening shape the evening.
Conclusion: Fürth Remembers invites you to experience memory live: with moving music, compelling texts, and a concert experience that connects history, present, and future.
