Baroque Elegance for the Year's End at Burgfarrnbach Castle

On December 31, 2026, Baroque Plus transforms the festivity hall of Burgfarrnbach Castle into a resonating stage full of brilliance, movement, and courtly finesse. The program The Sweet Reflections of Versailles takes the audience into the world of the Sun King and combines baroque masterpieces with influences from antiquity and modernity for a unique concert experience.

Versailles in the Mirror of Music

Europe dances, and in Fürth, this world of the baroque is reflected in finely drawn sound colors. Inspired by the Hall of Mirrors, Baroque Plus unfolds music that makes shimmer, symmetry, and movement audible. Recorders, baroque cello, and harpsichord rely on elegant orchestration and precise conducting in interplay, so that each musical gesture appears polished like a light reflection.

An Ensemble with Profile and Distinction

Baroque Plus ranks among the most exciting young formations of early music. The ensemble was founded in 2023 at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg and was awarded the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize in 2025. Previously, they received, among others, the 1st prize at the Göttingen Handel Competition, the 2nd prize at the Biagio-Marini Competition, as well as further awards and grants from the German Music Competition and the German Music Council. These successes reflect artistic authority and a sound that focuses on precision, a willingness to take risks, and closeness to the audience.

Live Atmosphere with Attention to Detail

Those who experience this concert receive more than historical performance practice. The musicians narrate musical developments with short moderation, surprising accessories, and a stage performance that brings early music into the present. Exactly therein lies the strength of Baroque Plus: a lively audience atmosphere, transparent sound language, and a program that sparks curiosity rather than appearing museum-like.

Burgfarrnbach Castle as a Harmonious Backdrop

The festivity hall of Burgfarrnbach Castle offers an appropriate setting for this soirée. The classicist castle is one of the remarkable cultural venues in the city of Fürth and is an established event location. There are parking spaces available in the castle courtyard for arrival, and the connection via bus and train is well described. Important for visitors: Access is unfortunately not barrier-free.

Conclusion

Baroque Plus combines stylistic finesse, international awards, and an audience-oriented dramaturgy for a concert with special radiance at the year's end. The Sweet Reflections of Versailles promises a festive afternoon full of sound splendor, historical elegance, and fresh energy. Anyone who wants to experience baroque music with modern presence should not miss this date in Fürth.
